San Salvario & Valentino

San Salvario runs from Porta Nuova station down to the Parco del Valentino, and it has changed faster than any district in Turin over the last fifteen years. The stretch nearest the park — Via Ormea, Via Madama Cristina, the streets around the synagogue — is now firmly residential and firmly expensive.

The draw is the Valentino itself: fifty hectares of riverside park, the botanical garden, and the mock-medieval Borgo, all of it a five-minute walk from flats that still cost less per square metre than Crocetta.

It is also the loudest part of the city at night. Buyers should walk the specific street on a Friday before committing; two parallel roads can be entirely different propositions.
