Cit Turin — 'little Turin' in Piedmontese — grew up around Porta Susa in the years either side of 1900, and the architects of the 1902 Exposition left it the densest run of Liberty buildings in the country. Casa Fenoglio-Lafleur, on the corner of Via Principi d'Acaja, is the one on every postcard.
For years it was overlooked because Porta Susa station made it feel transitional. The new station and the covered boulevard above the tracks changed that: it is now a fifteen-minute walk to the centre, four minutes to the high-speed platforms, and the Liberty stock has been steadily restored.
It remains the best value per square metre of any prime district in Turin, which is why year-on-year growth here has outpaced Crocetta for three years running.
